Can biodynamic massage help you?

There are no guarantees! However, most people find that they get some benefit from the massage, and enjoy the experience of receiving touch and being able to talk about their lives.

Read the rest of the pages in this section of my web site; see if what I've written resonates with you, decide if you'd like to try it. If it feels right at some level then I believe it's more likely to help you. There is no substitute for actually trying it first hand, however!

A few other comments may help:

  • Generally speaking, biodynamic massage is less effective at helping with a specific complaint if sessions take place less frequently than every week. Ideally they should take place at the same time and on the same day, to create a rhythm. (If you don't want to work with something specific, then it's fine to come less often.)
  • It helps if you are able to approach the work as taking place within a relationship and not just as a situation where you are being done to as passive recipient. Sometimes I might not get it right for you and it's really important that you can tell me this; I can't read your mind! Biodynamic massage is a relationship within which difficulties can be revealed and explored, and this is an essential part of the healing process. The work helps you to develop communication skills which can be taken back into your everyday life.
  • You're very welcome to come and meet me, free of charge, before committing to massage. If you are wanting to work with a particular issue in your life it's important that you find someone you feel you can work with. I may or may not be that person!
  • The more severe your condition, and especially the longer you've had it, the more sessions it is likely to take before some improvement is seen. If your problem is intermittent (or example migraines which might happen only once every few weeks) then it may also take quite a while before any improvement can be reliably demonstrated.
  • Sometimes I can get a feel for how well I think a condition is going to respond from work taking place during the first or second session, and I'm happy to share this.
