Biodynamic massage can be effective at helping a
wide range of issues, including the
following:
Physical
problems
- Bodily
aches/pains (headaches, muscle tension, stiff or sore joints,
backache, bones which 'never felt right' after a fracture)
- Specific
medical conditions such as Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome, indigestion,
Chronic Fatigue
Syndrome, headaches/migraine, sinusitis, asthma
Psychological/emotional
issues
- Self-development/self
awareness (confidence, shyness,
self-esteem; can be a useful adjunct to, or substitute for,
talking therapies)
- Emotional
issues (panic attacks, over-whelming emotions, being cut off from
feelings, depression, anxiety)
General
and lifestyle-related
- Stress
(includes irritability, panics, anxiety, sleep problems, tension
headache)
- People
who would like to function better, or need support through a time
of change e.g. bereavement, divorce, being away from home,
recovery from trauma or illness e.g. cancer
- Those
who desire a better relationship with their body, or who feel a
need for quality touch in their lives
- Abnormal
activity levels (finding it hard to stop, or to relax--or
tiredness, lethargy and inability to ‘get going’)
Within my
practice, I have experience of working with:
- migraines
- headaches
- back ache
- arthritis
- pains or numbness in
limbs/fingers
- insomnia/sleep problems
- sinusitis
- auto-immune problems
- arm discomfort following surgery
for breast cancer
- IBS
- Crohn's disease
- CFS
- depression
- anxiety
- panic attacks
- trauma
- anger or frustration
- fear
- difficulties relaxing
- sleep problems
- wanting to feel more grounded
- dealing with death
- the end of a relationship
- support for carers
I particularly
enjoy working with people who have
lost confidence or a sense of direction in life; those who struggle with
relationships; individuals who are interested in spirituality but do not necessarily find affinity with
religion.
My practice
also includes a large proportion of male
clients.
