Biodynamic massage therapy combines a wide variety of different types of touch in a unique way for each individual. The quality of touch ranges all the way from very deep muscle work to very light contact (and may even include work around the body, in the aura).

Rather than solely focusing on whichever muscles are tight or whatever needs to be done from a theoretical point of view, biodynamic massage therapy also works with a felt sense of what is required in each and every moment. It also incorporates a certain amount of talking (varying widely with different clients).

These characteristics create the possibility for a very deep level of connection - both between therapist and client, and for the client with their body, their inner life and their sense of self and the present moment.

Every massage is different, and most clients find the experience highly enjoyable.

Biodynamic massage therapy aims to return you naturally to the flow of life. It does this by bringing you more into touch with yourself and by enhancing your body's inherent capacity to self-regulate. The intention is that your body becomes a much nicer place to live in: you literally "come home to yourself."

A typical outcome is that you end each session in a much more centred, grounded, embodied state. You become more "yourself" ... someone who feels alive and in touch with the world as a joyful place in which to live.

Biodynamic massage therapy is suitable for everyone, for example:

  • Sports people
  • Those wanting help with stress-related issues
  • People who simply want a way of regularly checking in with their body as part of a health maintenance programme
  • Individuals who are in recovery from challenging life events
  • People who are wanting relief from a wide range of medical conditions
  • Those who want to explore life in more depth.

As a practitioner, I am developing a special interest in working with people who have experienced traumatic events (road traffic and other accidents; surgery or other kinds of injury, illness or medical intervention; physical/emotional/sexual abuse etc.) and I am increasingly incorporating verbal interventions and mindfulness type exercises into my work.
